Metro do Porto | Breakthrough of the last tunnel on the Pink Line
On August 5, a significant milestone took place in the Circular Line project of Metro do Porto: the breakthrough of the last tunnel, between the Boavista/Casa da Música and Galiza stations, marking the completion of the underground phase of construction on a section of about 3 km, located in one of the most densely urbanized areas of the city.
TPF Consultores is responsible for the Management, Supervision, Monitoring, and Coordination of Safety and Health for this highly complex project, which includes the construction of four new stations (Liberdade/S. Bento, Hospital de Santo António, Galiza, and Boavista/Casa da Música), three emergency and ventilation shafts, as well as the implementation of state-of-the-art technical and signaling systems, based on the NATM excavation method.
This new infrastructure is part of a strategy to strengthen sustainable urban mobility and improve accessibility in downtown Porto, contributing to a more efficient, modern, and inclusive public transport system.
