Water Resources in the Province of Nampula - Monapo River

Preparation of monographs, development scenarios and strategic plan for the integrated development of water resources in Monapo’ hydrographic basin (8800 km²), in order to provide information on the availability of water resources to meet future water needs for population supply, irrigation and other purposes related to socio-economic development and environmental conservation, through the definition of general and specific guidelines for the development of water resources at the level of the river basins, setting goals to achieve progressive levels of preservation and conservation of the river basins’ water resources, through the development of programs and its respective action plans, necessary to ensure that these objectives are achieved, prioritizing investments in critical areas, also defining the training and environmental education necessary for the preservation of ecosystems and the management of of the river basin water resources.
