Cascais Airport's Terminal Building

The building, with a deployment area of 961.00 m2, has a gross floor area of 1.526 m2, distributed over 2 above ground-level floors, and is sized for an average of 80 passengers per day, distributed by regular and business class flights.

Most of the public areas are located on the ground floor, while the upper floor houses most of the work and support areas (although for functional reasons some of the operational areas were located on the ground floor). The technical areas, in turn, are divided by both floors.

Thus, on the ground floor are located the spaces for VIP and regular passengers, cafeteria and its kitchen, SEF [Portuguese immigration and borders service], PSP [national civil police force], Customs, and Control and Security Area, including screening area of hand and hold luggage. The upper floor includes the core of work offices and support areas for employees, areas for pilots and other crew members, VIP meeting rooms, and service and BackOffice areas for operators.

The Design, developed with BIM (Building lnformation Modeling) methodology, includes the following specialties:

• Thermal behaviour study, verification of the Regulation on the energy performance of residential buildings (REH): Energy Pre-Certification (PCE);
• Acoustic conditioning studies; Health and Safety Plan;
• Waste prevention and management plan (PPGR);
