The Study of the hydraulic Behaviour for the Intercepting Sewer System of Caneças/Ramada/Odivelas and the Detailed Design for Stormwater Control in Combined Sewers consisted of the following phases:
§ Phase A – Preparatory Studies:
o Recognising and characterising the current situation and system;
o Flow measurement campaign, with installation of 20 flow meters inside the pipes;
o Level measurement campaign, with installation of 12 level meters in watercourses and pipes;
§ Phase B – Studies on the Hydraulic System Operation:
o Measurement data processing and analysis;
o Building, validating and calibrating the model of the Subsystem using SWMM;
o Building, validating and calibrating the model of the Subsystem using HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS;
o Analysis and integrated assessment of simulation results – Current situation;
§ Phase C – Flow Control Plan:
o Defining and planning the interventions proposed;
o Analysis and integrated assessment of simulation results – Interventions proposed;
§ Phase D – Detailed Design for Stormwater Control in Combined
Sewers;
o Stormwater inflow control and preparation of the designs with the measures to be implemented – 12 flow control chambers; 2 flow diversion boxes; 800 m of pipe with a DN from 200 to 500 mm
Plan and Detailed Design.
