Canto Cagarra dam has irrigation as its main purpose and has the following characteristics:
Gravity type dam, in stone masonry, with a maximum height of 37.7 m above the foundation and with 67 m of total of crest length;
Uncontrolled spillway on the dam body, designed for a maximum flow of 640.9 m3/s, with a Creager spillway sill and a discharge channel over downstream face, ending at a ski jump;
Bottom outlet (Ø500 mm) embedded in the dam’s body and designed for a maximum flow of 1.6 m3/s;
Ø400 mm Water Intake for irrigation located on the dam upstream face.
