The new mill is one of the most important agricultural and symbolic investments of Sovena Group and is of particular importance for the Portuguese market.

This facility is equipped with modern extraction lines and a modern storage area, stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature and environment, in order to preserve all the quality of the olive oil.

With an annual extraction capacity of 8 million liters, the Marmelo Olive Oil Mill is prepared to generate the least possible impact on the environment:

  • the water used to clean the olives is filtered and controlled in order to be reused;
  • the olive stone is used as a fuel source, to generate heat;
  • the olive pomace will be sold for later use as biomass for energy production.

With regard to the mill design, the building is a functional and symbolic building (total area - 5 558.15 m²), including an area for the Olive Oil Museum.
