The preparation of Mozambique’ Spatial Development Plan covered the entire national territory (801 590 km²) and is the main strategic planning instrument that defines and establishes the perspectives and general guidelines that will guide the use of the entire Mozambican territory and the priorities of multisectoral interventions on a national scale, with the contributions of all agents involved in the sectors of Mining, Agriculture and Forestry, Transportation and Communication Networks, Industry, Environment, Tourism, Energy, Water, Fisheries, Health, Education and Learning.

The studies include the development of decision support tools such as a Geographic Information System, an information platform and a Strategic Environmental Assessment, as well as training and institutional strengthening actions.

Study funded by the World Bank's International Development Association.
