This project comprises the Water Intake, By-pass and Pumping Station at Conchoso. The objective is the adduction of water from the Tagus River both by gravity (through the By-pass) and, by pumping, through the Pumping Station.

  • Water Intake: The Water Intake is a structure formed by earth dykes, protected by foundation stones both on the river side and at the bottom. Its length is circa 60 meters with a minimum width of 23 meters.
  • By-pass: The Bypass is a rectangular concrete structure, 50 meters long and 10,60 meters wide, erected on pillars. The spans are equipped with regulation floodgates and fixed pieces for coffer-dam.
  • Pumping Station: The Pumping Station is a rectangular shaped structure in armed concrete, erected over pillars, with a length of 26,80 m and a width of 10,60 m. It comprises an intake, a pre-filtering section (screening), a distribution chamber, 4 suction chambers and a chamber for the installation of the pump connecting duct. The spans are equipped with floodgates, being the system operated by 4 semi-axial type pumps.
