Rehabilitation of Humpata's Irrigation Perimeter and Neves Dam

The Base Project comprised 2 stages: Diagnosis of the Situation and Base and Alternative Solutions.

The intervention aims to operationalize an irrigated perimeter for about 1 300 ha, with water supply problems. It is admitted that the precarious state of Neves dam and its elements, whose storage capacity is reduced by silting, may be the main cause of the situation.

On the other hand, the poor state of the infrastructure also conditions the full use of the Perimeter and constitutes a potential risk for the region.

A scenario of solutions was designed to significantly increase the irrigated area, distributed over several areas with projects in progress or with greater potential and other land adjacent to the current Irrigated Perimeter.

In this study, a set of complementary and / or alternative works were also considered, subject to technical and economic appraisal.
