A1 Motorway - Stryków-Tuszyn Section

The A1, in Poland, is a north–south motorway and is a part of the European route E75. The A1 Motorway runs through Gdansk – Torun – Łodz – Czestochowa – Katowice – to the southern border with the Czech Republic in Gorzyczki.

The construction of this motorway will positively affect the environment by taking some traffic from existing national roads (No 1) and provincial roads (No 14) and by removing heavy traffic from residential areas.

This work comprised:

• Construction of a new, two-lane 37,28 km long motorway;
• Construction of 4 new “trumpet” type interchanges;
• Construction of traffic safety devices, management and monitoring systems;
• Construction of a toll collection square and 3 stations of toll collection on interchanges;
• Reconstruction of local roads in the places of crossing with to motorway;
• Construction of 4 Service Areas.

The use of modern paving, improving the flow of traffic, as well as the use of additional collateral such as: acoustic screens, animal crossings, planting of greenery and drainage system, improved the acoustic climate and road safety, reducing air pollution in areas close to these roads.
