EN 109 Road. Muconda-Luau-Border of DR of Congo Section

Rehabilitation of Road Infrastructure in the section of Muconda-Luau-Border of the DRC, in an extension of about 130 km.

This work comprises the restoration of the existing road, including its widening to a 7 meter wide carriageway and two 1 meter paved shoulders.

The structure of the existing pavement presents the configuration of the base in lateritic soil, where it was stabilized with cement. Two layers were placed in the sub-base and base in lateritic soil with a thickness of 15 cm in each layer, and a wear layer with a thickness of 4 cm in bituminous concrete.

All the necessary excavation, embankment and drainage works were also carried out, as well as road marking and traffic signs.

The contract also includes the construction of two bridges in a mixed structure of concrete and metal, one over the Luembe River and the other over the Luangue River.
