The study is developed along the EN 5 and 120 in an approximate length of 42km, considering its division into two distinct sections:
1st Section: Corresponding to EN5, it starts at km 30+800 near the Marateca junction and ends at km 55+050, which corresponds to the intervention carried out in the context of the construction of the junction of the connection to the A2 motorway, located at the northern limit of the Alcácer do Sal bypass.
2nd Section: Corresponding to EN 120, between the end of the Alcácer do Sal bypass at km 3+275 and the beginning of the Grândola bypass, km 21+436.
In addition to the existing pavement reinforcement works, the study included the redesign of intersections, introduction of roundabouts and collector roads, updating of signalling and safety equipment, environmental impact studies, lighting of a junction and roundabouts and redesign of the expropriation project.
Reformulation of the drainage study was also considered.
