Rehabilitation of Montargil – Santa Justa Channel

In order to improve the hydraulic characteristics of thechannel by decreasing the roughness and permeability of the walls, thefollowing work rehabilitation of the  Montargil - Santa Justa channel,will be performed:

a) Repair of cracks and regularization of the channel - is to regularize thesurface of walls and track, including filling the hollows and fissuresin walls with concrete;
b ) Construction of the support beam placed 50 by 50 m transversely to the flowdirection, in which it shall fix the screen and where it will drain waterinfiltrated between the channel and the screen;
c ) Installation of drainage blanket - will be placed on the track channeldraining a blanket type " Enkadrain " which serve to drain the waterthat could become dammed between the wall and waterproof fabric ;
d ) placing screen coating - HDPE fabric or the like, which prevents water lossand retention of slime in the wetted perimeter of the channel ;

The bridges of the canal Sebes and Teles, belonging to the channel Sôr - St. Justa willalso be subject to the same type of interventions .
