Wind Park of Arada/Montemuro

The Park included:

• 56 windturbines of 2000 kW unit power, distributed by 4 Wind Subparks (Aveloso,Carvalhosa, Picão and Arada) and two mountains (Arada and Montemuro);

• Construction of new roads with an extension of 17.1 km;

• Rehabilitation of paths in an extension of 3.6 km;

• 46 km ofoverhead power lines;

• A Cut ofCouples Post;

• 3 command/ substation buildings;

• Several km of cable ditches for the installation of the electrical cables of interconnection between the wind turbines and the command / substation building.

Project follow-up from the preliminary study phase with the elaboration of the Environmental Impact Study, characterizing the reference situation of the area to be intervened, with the limitation of sensitive areas to be preserved under the ecological and archaeological aspects, identifying and evaluating the impacts of the project and proposed mitigation me asures. In a second phase, the Environmental Compliance Report of the Execution Project was prepared.

Environmental and Archaeological Monitoring of the Construction Work was carried out, as well as Environmental Monitoring (birds, bats and flora,vegetation and habitats) during the phases prior to the implementation of the project, construction and exploration.
