Alcácer do Sal Railway Variant

This contracts part of the modernization plan of the South Line that REFER, EP-Nationalrail network has been implementing.

The work related with the construction of the railway variant to the South Railway line, between Pinheiro railway station and the km 94, with an extension of nearly 30km.

They consist on the construction of a new railway super structure and its infrastructures, including earth works and ancillary works, drains, overhead bridges, underground crossings, viaducts, the bridge over the Sado River and specifics route works, catenary, signaling and telecommunications.

Given the size of the enterprise, this involved two phases:

• 1st Phase– Includes the implementation of Variant between Pinheiro station and the km 94 of the South line;

• 2nd Phase – with respect to the implementation of the bridge over the river Sado, viaducts and signaling and telecommunications, as well as the execution of the super structure
